NGC 1396 - The Elephant's Trunk Nebula
This image shows the Elephant's Trunk Nebula, an area of interstellar dust and gas in the constellation Cepheus. Most recent belief is that this area is a site for star formation.
The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is about 2,400 light years from earth.
